Frustrated: Dust on Df VF

Not sure if anyone else, but after using my Df for about two months, there are several annoying "dust spots" (one of them is more string-like) on my Df VF, making the shooting experience challenging as I keep seeing spots that are not actually there, especially when using MF lenses.

At first I thought this can be easily resolved by removing the eyepiece and giving it a quick clean, but apparently I was dead wrong. The dust spots persist. I spent another two hours inspecting the focusing screen to see if there are particles stuck on it but I see nothing.

So my questions are:

1. Could the dust particles have gone inside the prism/finder?

2. Could the omission of eyepiece shutter lever on the Df subject it to increased dust exposure when changing eye pieces?

3. Is this the type of issue that Nikon Service Center would address under warranty?

Feedback appreciated.
