I saw in the other post that you've purchased the a77 with a grip! Congrats and welcome aboard

As others have mentioned, the old minolta lenses are really cheap and useful as they can be used in FF camera if you ever decided to purchase an a99.

The 50mm f/1.7 prime is one hell of a monster. Remember in a model shoot i had the other day, i stopped down the lens to f/2.8 and focused on the eyes, close-up. and guess what, when i viewed the pic in 100%, i could even see her contact lens and my own reflection clearly. Pretty cool if you ask me, and i wasn't even using an FF camera, just my usual a57 and is "lower-end" than yours! So yeah, as old as it my sound, but many of the old minolta lenses are a must-own. I have like 5 of them myself
