Nikon 70-200 2.8 vr1 for 700 dollars, should I buy?
Ignore the moaning about this lens - unless you're in the habit of photographing brick walls. The fact that you're proposing to use it on a DX body also means that the extreme corners are an irrelevance. However the lens is monstrously large and heavy. Mine hardly ever gets used and for this reason alone I'd have reservations about recommending the purchase. That said $700 is a steal assuming it's in good shape. If it isn't it will probably cost another $700 to fix...
