Reasons to buy Pentax 20-40mm (rather than Sigma 18-35mm)

Hi to all, many reviewers compare these very different lenses.

If weight as well as uttermost picture quality is your main concern;consider this:

You can mount a weather resistant 20-40mm and bring along a Sigma DP2M(which picture quality at low iso beats even my best Limited Primes in many circumstances) and also say bring a 50mm 1.8 at around the same weight as the 18-35mm.

Or of course,countless other alternatives.

What is my main reason to stay with Pentax?

Weather resistance and In-body stabilizations in a mature system.

DA* 55mm 1.4 is a very good reason for me to prefer Pentax over say Olympus.

I prefer 20-40mm to 18-55mm WR for quality of results.

I prefer 20-40mm to DA* 16-50 for weight reasons, and in lowlight situations again 20-40 pluss  55mm 1.4 is around same weight as 16-50.

There is of course for others very good reasons to choose, 18-35 or 16-50 or Olympus etc etc

But people who try to trash 20-40mm should know there is many good reasons also to choose one even if they don't want to do so themselves.
