Anyone with a Samyang 8mm lens and a KM 7D?
Feb 11, 2014
I recently bought a Samyang 8mm fisheye lens with detachable hood and overall I'm happy with it. There are however a few differences between how it behaves on my KM 7D and Sony A77, so I'd be happy to know if other see the same.
- The edge of the hood is visible at the top of the frame on the 7D, but not in the A77. Is the KM using a somewhat larger sensor?
- When attaching the lens to the body there's a lot of friction with the KM lens mount requiring to use more force. There's no issue on the A77. Other lenses are easy to attach to the 7D, so there's probably no issue with the camera.
- Exposure with this lens (using A-mode) is frequently inaccurate on the 7D, especially in dim light. With the A77 exposure is almost always spot on.
Are these issues with my specific 7D or do others observe similar behavior?
