So I am wondering what advantages one would find with the Df.

Hank - schematically speaking the differences/advantages are easily measured. There is a use factor that can't be quantified, especially in a forum which is technology-centric.

I love my Df, but I have consistently told people who are struggling to decide between the 2, to get the D610. If the Df's sensor and form factor do not set it apart from another camera you are considering then I believe you should get the other camera.

The D610 is an amazing camera. I was very interested in moving to it from a D700 but there were things that kept me away.

Many on this board see each camera as a zero-sum game when they share certain characteristics, and that is the wrong approach. Others are motivated by some passive aggressive behavior that isn't really worth engaging.

I recently joined Nikongear and it is an amazing site which goes far beyond some of the discussions here, on all models as well as photography as a whole. The signal to noise ratio gets flipped so there will likely be less of the asshat comments.
