Yes but what I mean is, you are not interpolating color. It's no longer 3X per pixel as it used to be. I agree it's still more data to deal with more accuracy.  You got a point in the filtering out blue to know that it's either green/red what remains.

For B&W I can see this arrangement better - assuming the ISO improvement is major. I think the main win is that the Merrill sensor was so noisy anyway, that cutting that down will be an improvement.
