SH-50 - A Distraction

Steve was supposed to mend the front window, and I was supposed to do some other chore. That was when the Praying Mantis jumped on his hand. I had the camera, but by the time I had it out the insect was on Sandra's sculpture, and that is where it stayed.

My SH-50 was in P Mode. It must have seen some fast movement of the insect, and chose a high ISO.

Much later, when Sandra saw an earlier shot here - she asked 'Have you not got one with my sculpture showing? Luckily I have -

Having got the shots, Steve and I went back to our jobs, and what is more, we completed them. Sandra never even mentioned how we had been distracted.

It would have been useful for me to take more notice of what the camera was thinking. The quickest way to deal with this might have been to use the Manual Mode, since you can adjust ISO, shutter speed and aperture, AND see whether your exposure is still in the ball park.

Remember the days when 400 ISO was the highest you could get on a compact?
