How many people have followed what happens to their old DSLR cameras? I mean the six and seven year old 6 and 10 Mpix CCD cameras that they long ago stopped using. These old cameras still take magnificent pictures although perhaps not at super high ISO. I wonder if most of them are just wasting their lives away on a shelf. How many have been unceremoniously dumped in the garbage.

Many people give them to a friend or relative, but even after giving them away, who follows what's become of them now in 2014?

As for me, I still have my old Sony trusted A200 from 2008. I still use it when I'm not using my compact camera.

Asides from everyday fuji xe1 both of my workhorse cameras are ancient, the 5d mk1 and the 300d. I won't be upgrading till they conk out.
