Devil's advocate : you can shoot video at very fast shutter speeds and extract decent stills, then later in post you can reintroduce motion blur to video with software if the intent is a pleasing to the eye video clip.

When we reach the point that photography has been dumbed down as to detract from the pleasure of capturing the moment, it will mean we have to work even harder to captivate the audience with emotion from the photo/ video. I think that this may be easier to do with video clips because a lot of artistic effort goes into the end product (prep, lighting, post, composition etc), so in that respect the artist behind the camera may have to adapt. Just a thought.
