I don't care about some moral stand against DRM. I'm talking audio and video quality and from that perspective Bluray is the best, hands down. It's not even close.

BluRay is just a bunch of bits read by a blue laser and encumbered with some inconvenient encryption. Nothing more.

Move the unencrypted bits to a hard drive, for example, and one can render the movie with exactly the same quality.

A music CD doesn't sound better than the binary data that was burned on CD. Rip it to a WAV file or compress it losslessly to a FLAC and you have the exact same audio (but without the noise of the spinning CD and associated motor).
