D800 - Focus accuracy with fast lenses - D vs AF-S

Yesterday I made a few attempts at shooting my son with the 50D/1.4 but it was only artificial light, raising ISO to 1600 didn't look good at all and shutter speed was still too slow at about 1/60th, today, on the other hand, I did try to shoot with the 28-300AF-S and be it the VR or the AF-S or better natural light than indoor one the pics look much much better, I will make another test in the same conditions with both lenses just for the sake of curiosity but I read somewhere that the D800 AF module suffers with big aperture lenses and this seems to confirm...

regards everybody
