Re: Fujifilm X-T1 or Fujifilm FinePix X100S (GOODBYE DSLR)

You knew what you wanted to do before the XT-1 was announced. The Fuji Xpro-1,XE-1 and XE-2 are great cameras. I have a friend who shoots the Xpro-1 and is sticking to it regardless of the XT-1.

Point is that just because of the XT-1 it raises doubt now. The reason IMO to get the XT-1 is for the weather sealing which only applies to Three Lenses. The other is for faster type subject matter, where you need the AF.

If you get the XT-1 body with the Fuji 23 mm 1.4 it will cost about $2,000. The X100s is $1,300 and a physically lighter weight and smaller camera.

The XT-1 is a SLR/DSLR style body and the XE and Xpro are a rangefinder style body. You will jut be going back to a larger body that you just said you wanted the X100s.

Also, keep in mind the XT-1 is not available and is only a pre-order and will take at least 45 days to get now.

What I would do is get the X100s and pre-order the XT-1. With pre-orders your CC is authorized for that amount but not charged, just the credit limit reduced temporarily till the camera is available at least for B&H Photo.

Now you have the X100s to shoot for a couple days and decide to keep it or return it. By the time the XT-1 is ready you can cancel the order or return the camera. It is a win/win IMO.

Last, and to say again, if you were going to be happy with the X100s regardless of any of the interchangeable lens cameras I do not think you need the XT-1. The XE-2 is still an improvement.
