Yes and no. It's risky. A subset of users would be OK with a $3000 price point - namely wildlife shooters. Lots of people wouldn't.

Agree. I think that the market would be very small for a $3000 APS-C. I'm thinking that the upper limit for good sales is $1800-$2000, perhaps even a bit less. If there is a 7DMk2, and lets say for instance it has a 24MP dual sensor, I would be willing to wait for a year until it falls to around $1500 to buy it. I wouldn't even briefly consider it for over $2000. At that price, I'd get a 70D once it falls to around $900.
