a problem shooting jewellery

I shoot with a D800 and 60mm 2.8 lens for jewellery.  I'm currently shooting some rings and I'm having a problem with the images being TOO sharp.. as in, it shows every minor little flaw.  The rings are amazing but don't have a "perfect" look.  The problem is, the rings look better to the eye than in a photo. Any ideas on how I can "tone it down"?.. for lack of a better description.
