D800 / 200 f/4 macro aperture issue

My prized 200 f/4 has suddenly taken a dislike to my D800.  It will not move off of minimum aperture.  The lens works perfectly fine on my D4 and D700.  The AF lever on the D800 appears to work OK, as does the lens lever -- and the camera behaves correctly with several other D and G lenses. The aperture lock on the lens is locked - if I unlock it the camera appropriately gives me an FEE error but I can manually move the aperture ring and open the lens.

The lens recently came back from Nikon after the aperture assembly had to be replaced, so I suspect something went awry there, but it seems odd that it works on the other bodies.
