I am not too worried about the RX10 for low light shots of static objects. I know that it does very well for that. Just mainly concerned about the its ability to autofocus moving object in low light. But you are correct that with a proper technique I am sure to get some keepers.

I'm not all that familiar with that sport, Amy -- but there is a difference between moving and rapidly changing position. If the range to the target is not changing dramatically (as, say, in a race) you should be OK wrt AF. Main issue may be keeping the shutter speed high enough to stop action.
