basic lighting setup and lenses
I'm just starting out and would like to ask few questions about portraiture lighting.
My English is not very good but hopefully you readers can understand me
So when using continuous lighting..set main light at 45 degree angle to subject.
4-5 ft away and about foot above subjects head.
Fill light, as close to the camera as possible at eye level.
Is this correct?
and when using umbrella..just one of them, you place it as close to the camera as possible,
at subjects eye level
is this correct?
and when using 2 umbrellas, you do 45 degree angle again, and fill close to the camera?
And camera should be about 5 ft away from the subject? About same for the fill?
I would also like to ask what is the difference between standard and medium telephoto lenses?
I have a lens that is 55-250mm. Would that be a good lens for portraits?
Thanks so much!
