They used to, back in the film days. The 24-85, 28-105 come to mind. Pretty good glass with USM focusing.

I think Canon got away from these designs in the digital age because they were 'consumer lenses'     and Canon assumes that if you buy a FF digital body then you will naturally want to hang their professional 'L' lenses on it.

If you want lightweight consumer lenses they still make a variety to choose from, they are just designed for their 'consumer' crop bodies.

The only current consumer FF normal zoom is the 28-135 IS, a good lens, but not exactly a lightweight.
