Exp lock/hold does this too.

It would be even better if Nikon did M like Pentax, where you can link the shutter speed and aperture so that if you change one, the other changes automatically to keep the same exposure.

AP mode does this with one press of the exposure lock button if you have the exp button set to lock-hold. Now if you have this button on a D7x00 set for AF on, then you lose that option.

I had forgotten the AE Lock. I dont use AFOn lock
