How healthy is A-mount?

Your post is highly informative and a well written summary, K.E.H.! IMHO it's quite within my line of thought, and I particularly share your thoughts when you say:

I actually believe Sony could well live with maybe 3 DSLR - level A-mount bodies ( SLTs, Mirrorless, whatever ), all FF . All consumer entry and mid levels would be mirrorless and APS-C , prosumers  mirrorless APS-C and FF ( A7,7R,... ). The lowest level of the 3 DSLRs would actually be a prosumer  FF in the N 610D/ C 6D style/level.
