I spent hours researching backpack options, and ultimately decided on the Tamrac Evolution 9. It holds plenty of photo gear, a lap top, plus lots of other stuff (jacket, lunch) in the top compartment. I can get to the camera and lenses without taking the backpack off.

I have considered the Tamrac Evolution 9 and 10 but my main concern is the size of the top compartment and how comfortable it is over long hikes. I have also considered the Kata Bumblebee 222 but have the same concerns as the Tamrac. How much can you fit in the top of the Tamrac and how comfortable is it over a days hike (anything over 3 hours wearing it)?
