SX40HS - I think I've squeaked out all the sharpness ..

I've been working with the camera and learning a bit about it.

The focus system doesn't like flat lighting. Good contrast gives more reliable focus.

Take a look at these two images. I think this is all I can get sharpness wise. The side-rear lighting didn't help any, but check out the eye area at original size.

Distance about 12 feet. Shot through a thermo pane (2 glass) window.

This a  crop of original. JPEG processed in Nikon ViewNX2.

The bottom image is full resolution of the original. No resizing.

Shot at 1/200s at f 7.1.  I think this is about it for this little sensor.
