Nikon AF-D

I've searched some for this answer but haven't been able to find anything.

I know AF-D effects 3D Matrix Metering and Flash Exposure, but do the D lenses contribute to the 3D Focus Tracking at all? I don't use too much flash, and I can handle exposure compensation, but am wondering about the ability to use the D7000's focus system to its maximum potential.

Thanks.
