Well no. It just means you need to learn how to use your camera.

Dials are so last century.

The nice thing about dials is that they work.

In regard to TAv mode or a hypothetical replica on this new Oly, if you're going to keep your eye on the target instead of the dial then there is essentially no difference between a retro dial and a control wheel. Both are simply spun with an index finger or a thumb to achieve a desired modification. For practically this reason alone, I think the functional value of these retro dials is way overstated. Not that there's anything wrong with them but what people do with them is basically no different than how people interact with a modern Pentax DSLR.
