Question about the "rendering" of the PL 25mm 1.4
3

I have seen several forum users say they like the "rendering" of the PL 25mm, even though its corner sharpness and other "objective" optical qualities are not flawless.  I have nothing against a (relatively) small, (relatively) inexpensive lens that isn't optically perfect at f/1.4, but am curious what it means to love the "rendering" of this lens.  Is this self-justification to excuse other optical flaws?  Again, I see nothing wrong with that, I am just curious.

I don't see this comment made about many other lenses.  Is it a Leica thing?  Does the lens actually make images that look different or better, even when test shots reveal some nits?

Thanks for any thoughts...
