Very good point! Canon EF 70-200mm 1:4L IS USM has 67mm filter thread, is only 172 mm long and weight 760 g.

As far as I learned from the reviews here, today the Metabones adapter gives very poor AF, but it supports image stabilization. Therefore with the Canon EF lenses via the Metabones adapter I'll have image stabilized manual focus lens.

I already own the Canon FD 80-200mm/f4L lens and I am just in the beginning of my learning process:

I was going to sugges Canon 70-200/4 IS as well but won't be cheaper or smaller. In that case, might as well stick with native lens which should also include tripod collar and it also gets you a focus hold button on the lens (not sure about the Canon) and a more usable AF. Both lenses have focus range limiter, two mode stabilization.
