Editing versus processing

Processing is anything you do in a traditional "dark room" sense, adjusting colour balance, white balance, noise reduction, toning and saturation adjustments, etc...

Editing is when the photo no longer becomes a shot which was taken with the camera.. cloning, healing, airbrushing, and altering a scene to make it something that it's not e.g. replacing a grey sky with clouds, or cloning out an object that was in your scene originally.
