Editing versus processing

Editing = Surgery, Processing = GP

I would say "Processing" was going to the GP ( white balance, colour tone, sharpening, raising shadows ), while "Editing" was more like Surgery ( adjusting particular objects, complex procedures for special purposes, correcting e.g. scans of damaged prints, replacing backgrounds ).

I suppose I'd characterize processing as the broad strokes, but editing is more complex stuff.
