Here is the problem with yours and Kens posts... OUR THOUGHTS on the pro line don't differ. Unfortunate for us, Sony's thought on the pro line is different from ours.

Sony was apparently a huge sponsor of the PPA(Professional Photographers of America), and they were there for.... for the A7/A7r. You can see it here in this 2 page ad PPA Booklet

Look at this thread about the Sony Pro-Reference Photographers Program, . They don't even have the Amount on the webpage. When you click on Alpha cameras, guess what you see.... A7/A7r/A5000/A3000/5T

I hope I am wrong on this, but it doesn't look good at all.

Which happen to be the latest cameras. Sony is in the process of establishing E-mount as a mainstream line that can already eat into Canon and Nikon duopoly. This is why you see cameras like even a3000 mentioned.

There is nothing new in the A-mount that Sony needs to push right now. That is something to look for in the future. And while many are anticipating a77 replacemebt shortly, I doubt it will be much more than a stop gap model if only to provide a level of comfort. May be I am relying too much on the idea that Sony might have something revolutionary up its sleeve for A-mount but its not ready yet. And if they do have something, I don't think they will speak loudly about it. Sony usually refrains from making long term announcements with specifics. In fact, take a look at FF E-mount roadmap. We expect announcements with 2-3 months for a few lenses and nobody has an idea what those lenses will be specifically (vague idea). Some others choose to be more specific months in advance. It simply is a difference in corporate culture I would say.

This is Sony's website, not some advertising agency. It wouldn't have cost them more to put a couple of Amount cameras there, under the "Alpha Camera" section.

Its not about cost, rather a statement on newest cameras under a revised convention for the brand Alpha. Did you see NEX-6 and NEX-7 there?
