So why don't people ever talk about the 4/3 aspect ratio?

Love 4:3 because...
  1. It offers more flexibility
  2. It captures more of the 'sweet spot' of a lens
  3. It is better for portrait photography
  4. Panoramas are simply two-shot, photo-merged
  5. Undistorted wide-angle shots are simply two-shot, photo-merged
  6. There's nothing stopping me from cropping to 3:2  (which can 'fit' better for computer viewing)
  7. 3:2 vertical is also achieved by stacking two landscape shots on top of each other, with the artistic advantage of two separate focus points (in the example below, the agave plant in the lower right corner and the mountain in the background).

Two landscape photo stacked on top and photo-merged.
