No and no.

Pre-order anyway because they won't take the money out until they ship. You can cancel at any time.

I'm planning on playing the Fuji X-Deal game. If not I figure that out, but for now:

I decided to Keep my 18-55 & 55-200

Sell:

14,35 and 60 primes

Get

XT-1

56 prime

10-24 zoom

Maybe 23 prime (maybe)

The X-E2 didn't sell out, but this one will... preorder or be prepared to wait months after it's been shipped.
 
Camera specs & features seem quite impressive. I think more than just the Fuji fan boys will be placing pre orders. Maybe you should get in line.
 
I am a very satisfied x-pro1 user but I find the X-T1 very appealing for a number of reasons.

I never early adopt but this X-T1 could be different for me as it uses an existing sensor etc. which are all proven. Being a SLR type I can see this appealing to many who like the DSLR style but want to move to mirrorless.

Good job Fuji.
 
If you would, I'm curious how you plan to go about selling your X gear. I'm trying the Craigslist route: not working :(
 
So what if it sells out at first! You wait. It doesn't cure cancer, transport you in time, or cure acne... your existing gear will move you along until it's on your dealer's shelf! Beside, you might be able to avoid some early model issues! Me, I will lustily wait until it's everywhere and somebody might cut off a few bucks or bundle it with a nice accessory. Until then, I will love my XPro1 and X100... knowing that they will have a brother coming...
 
They will not sell out. Wait and make your decision later. There is no rush.

Going to the local camera store. You can also check with B&H Photo, Adorama and KEH.com.

Ebay is always and option, just be aware of the commission Ebay and Pay Pal take

No way I'll ever do Craig's list, more personal then I want to ever be with a stranger.

Th Fuji X forum would be a great place to sell. They have a classified section there.
 
I agree they did a great job here. The Nikon DF seemed to promise this but for many it missed the mark (the wonderful sensor excluded).

This one hits the mark squarely. The best new camera since the Sony A7r.

If money is no object to you, and you lust for the X-T1 bad enough, go ahead and pre-order.

Why wait for a deal that may save you a few dollars? Could be 6 or more months after release before that happens.

As with all new cameras, some people have to be the first to own it.

And as you know, with all new cameras, early demand will exceed supply.

So, pre-order, and be one of the first to own XT-1.

And after you acquire XT-1, report back how you like it, and post some pictures here.

Enjoy new camera.

I rang Wex UK yesterday to add some additions to my order and asked my position regarding the X-T1 pre-order. I ordered it at 6:20am UK time and was 7th out of about 50-60 orders. This was about 11am UK time.

He described it as being rather popular! Time will tell, some of those may cancel but it seems there is a chance it could sell out. It comes down to how many have been produced for the initial shipment.

If they do sell out, it may take a little longer for any deals to appear.
