Copying HD to external...
Recently copying an HD I got out of the wifes dead laptop to an external HD, I noticed that towards the end of the copying[about 147gigs], it said that about 36 gigs were "copies of data that was already copied"..or something like that..I clicked, don't copy this type of data,etc and ended up with 111Gigs of data on the external..
I mainly did this because I "thought" that it probably was duplicate data and wasn't needed.
My question is, could this data be the "newest copy" of the duplicate data or would it even matter?
Since we still have the original HD from the laptop, we now have "about" two copies of the same data..and can go back to the original as needed in the future "if" the newly copied data on the external happen to not contain all the files,etc that are in the original..
