Re: NX300 early impressions
Had my NX300 and 45mm lens for 2 days and pleased, come from a NX1000 with 20-50mm lens. Managed to get a warehouse deal at £360 which was so cheap that I decided to skip waiting.
Burst and continuous is a lot better on the NX300 and the shutter speed with the f1.8 is pretty amazing, need to upload a chunk of pictures, once I've reviewed and picked a few samples.
Probably could have done this with the NX1000 but have started to get some nice cloud/sun pictures with F22 and also looking forward to a nice clear still night as the one or two night shots look promising.
I may be a little odd, as the flash is no real issue for me, I tend to leave it attached and it does not get in the way, perhaps as I've had years of using screens for shooting too the lack of EVF is less of an issue.
The touchscreen editing works nicely, especially as you can add the various effects afterwards, which speeds up shooting. Not as good as using pixlr express or similar on a tablet can see me sitting over a cup of tea when out in the summer, cropping up some shots and emailing them from camera.
WISHLIST
FTP option in WiFI, then can configure it to use my own hosted space, nice unlimited storage. Or failing that Flickr.
More control in remote viewfinder and less lag would make it useful, and option to stream but leave camera controls running. Can then use the mobile phone as a viewing screen when shooting videos.
PROBLEMS
The 45mm lens is a fast focus lens, but in a relatively dark indoor scene autofocus can still fail, need to get more used to manual focus I guess.
Now looking at the 50-200mm and 18-55mm lens
A backpack bag to carry the growing number of bits
Need to look at extension tubes for macro, as have got used to point and shoots that handle focus at as little as 5cm, which with the NX IQ would give some stunning flower, insect shots.
