Tamron 70-300 USD AF problems at 300mm?

I have some problems with my Tamron 70-300USD lens. Its autofocus works nicely at all other focal length, but its long end (300mm) behaves quite often badly. Sometimes AF locks quickly as it should, but often it starts intensive hunting procedure, and perhaps not lock at all - even if the target is very clear. This happens only at 300mm, and with my both cameras: A37 & A65, so the camera isn't a problem...Manually I can easily focus to target

Also distance does not change this behavior. No matter if I try to focus to infinity, or 5 meters.

Is this a normal "characteristic" of Tamron 70-300USD, or perhaps my lens needs some adjusting (service)?

Does anyone have a similar experience with Tamron 70-300USD?
