Re: Help, did I screw up my sensor?

You have the advice you need.

I have been using PecPads and eclipse for a decade+.

I attach a pecpad to a Rubbermaid with tape and put three drops of eclipse on he pecpad.

One swipe, turn it over, a second swipe, and check the sensor cover.  Repeat until clean.

The sensor cover is much harder to scratch than one thinks.

Do not spend $25 on 4 pads, that is a joke.

I bought a box of pecpads and eclipse for $5 a decade ago.  They apparently started making this stuff out of gold as the prices are absurd.

Do not worry about cleaning the sensor cover.  They are much tougher than one thinks.  I think a pecpad is just a lint free cloth, and eclipse is alcohol.  You can likely buy this stuff at Walmart, but the camera variety is likely less work vs figuring out what you need and a small bottle should last decades.

Have fun
