Lumix 12-32 and shutter shock?

if someone is playing with the idea of using the 12-32 on other cameras than the GM1, you will have to consider that the 12-32 might have some blur issues due to shutter shock.

the pz14-42 was probably the first lens i owned which showed severe shutter-shock problems.

the very first time when the "shutter-shock" problem was actually brought up was maybe when imaging-resource reviewed the E-P1 and the old m.zuiko 14-42 showed blur issues as well.

when i had the E-PL3 i discovered blurring issues with nearly all of my lenses at particular shutter speeds, which suggested that the shutter interferred with the IBIS and the whole problem was not just lens related. dpreview had recently shown the same issue with their E-P5 review.

meanwhile i own the GM1 as my one and only camera and have sold all my previous ones, including GX1 and GH1.

i asked myself if the 12-32 was also prone to shutter-shock. on the GM1 you won't notice any blur as the mechanical first curtain is nearly silent and without any vibration, while the electronic first curtain is fully electronic without any moving parts.

for testing i mounted the 12-32 on my GH1 and noticed that there was blur at longer focal lenghts compared to the GM1 which was tack sharp.

here is a 100% crop from both taken at 32mm, GH1 first, GM1 below. you can see that the GH1 has blur issues (image was taken at 1/200) thus making the 12-32 sensitive to shutter-shock problems depending on the camera it is used on.

here are both images full sized. the difference might be subtle, but it is definitely present.
