I think they work great. Keep in mind when asking about images with and without that ALL images use a color profile. There are big differences between the Normal, Muted, Vivid, and Portrait profiles that you use to get OOC images. Consequently the comparisons are not between the Olympus profile and the VSCO profile.

Here is a shot from last week. It's sort of the opposite end of the temperature spectrum, which should give an idea how it works with a different color palette. This one was done using Velvia but I use Astia more than the Velvia. To get an idea how this works, the Velvia profile pumps the hue and saturation of the reds by 10%, pumps the hue of the green by 10% but knocks the saturation down by 10%, and then cuts the hue of the blues by 10% and pumps the saturation by 30%.

Nice image Don, I like the way it looks!

I think VSCO profiles are pretty cool and close to the original film they tend to emulate. But the nice thing with digital is that we can tweak it to our taste with infinite variations.

I shot many Provia rolls many years ago, and I'm happy to find that look on some of my digital pictures. But of course, it's not to everyone's taste.
