I would definitely get the K-30 instead of the K-7 due to the K-30's much better ability to get good shots in low light and focus peaking capability as well.  It's not a metal body, so some compromise there, but it is weather sealed and feels good in the hand.  I have never owned a K-30, but have handled one in the store and admired it's "feel" compared to the comparable models from other manufacturers.

Good luck!
