What if the D400 is not a "pro DX" but a "consumer FX"? My prediction...


I have a feeling that the D400, when it arrives, will not be a "pro DX" body at all.

I think it will be a FX sensor in a small body like the D3200.  This would open a new market for Nikon and bring FX "to the masses".

Their current naming scheme makes me think this is how things will work out:

D3xxx - consumer DX

D5xxx - mid range consumer DX

D7xxx - prosumer DX

D4xx - ??

D6xx - mid range FX

D8xx - pro FX

See the pattern here..
