Re: Help deciding whether to get the Nikon Df

Never tried the E-M5 so can't make a direct comparison, but the Df output is superb, across the board, you don't need special circumstances to appreciate it. Take clouds, for example. They have a magic quality about them. Smooth, subtle shades, great colours. I was worried when I bought the Df that I'd only see minor improvements some of the time, compared to my DX stuff. No problem, or rather the problem is, I have this DX gear which I was quite happy with, but I haven't touched it since buying the Df. I probably will at some point. Probably.

I've always felt that film, at it's best, has a subtle quality, some magic, that, great although it can be, digital doesn't match. The Df brings back that magic.

Expensive? You'll still be using the Df in 10 years time, and beyond. The main cost in switching systems is the lenses, but again good lenses are future proof.
