A contract is even more important if you do paid work for a friend, as it avoids misunderstandings.

I completely understand that for a more formal transaction you'd definitely want to set up a contract or at least agree on a price before getting started, but this was more an informal thing between friends. I'm honestly not to worried about any misunderstandings or anything like that. I think things will go swimmingly.

But I get your sentiments and will definitely be a bit more prepared next time.
