Backyard Safari with my Olympus
11

Yesterday, as I was having breakfast ( 9:00AM ), I looked out my window and noticed that it had rained last night. The Japanese maples were covered with drops of water that were glinting in the sun. I said to my wife, " I think I'll go out and exercise my Olympus." I grabbed my OMDE-5 with a macro lens from the 1980s and shot the following shots in a 1/2 hour.

Morale of the story? Your back yard can be as exciting as an expensive safari, all you have to do is search out the "exotic" flora as opposed to fauna.

At the top is a photo shoot that I did last year when I had bought my 40-150mm Olympus lens. Everyone said it was a lousy lens so I went out to test it for myself in the state park a couple of miles from my house.cdelbert.zenfolio/p1203957472
