They make splash resistant lenses for their bigger, more expensive cameras. These lenses can be even mounted on D7000. They cost 3+ times more than the camera and they weight more than the camera and the camera only uses about 40% of their frame, and narrows down their intended field of view, so that hardly makes much sense - but it can be done.
