Opposite of my experience.

I've had a relatively easy time removing chroma noise from NX photos. I have not yet worked with NX300 RAW, but NX100 and 200 files were very receptive, most especially the 200. Very little bumping of the Chroma NR slider is required. Luma grain is more prevalent and lossy when removed, so I usually leave it (regardless of the camera). I prefer grain with detail to loss of detail and no grain.

There's also Nik suite for NR. Quite effective, as is DxO Optics.

Anyway, looking at DPR comparisons (I wish we had the old test scene, but alas), the NX300 ISO-3200 noise characteristic appears to be a bit behind a D7100 or D5300 and a noticeably ahead of the D3200, so I wouldn't say it's markedly inferior to its APS-C brethren. DxO puts it somewhat ahead of the sensors in the NEX-C/F3, SLT-A57/A58 and Fuji X100, for example.
