Hei there

I borrowed the Sigma 60mm and tried it in a studio situation. I agree, it's easily one of the best lenses for the M43 system. It's not a focal length I often use but I might get it for longer outdoor shots.

Since I got mine, I've noticed that I crop a lot tighter than I would with a shorter lens or zoom lens. My wife noticed it right away (and didn't necessarily like it.)

Now, if i'm shooting high school basketball, for instance, I might cut a player off at the knees or only get half of the ball when the player is holding it high. Sometimes it's just too tight to get the important parts of the shot — but often, the tightness of the original shot makes it pop. With a zoom, I'd be at 25mm or wider and crop later.

60mm (or "120") can be a bit long in typical family or social settings… though it does let you shoot from afar, which can be good for candids.

I borrowed the 60mm from my friend. He uses it for dimly lit Hallenfussball situations (indoor soccer?). He's never too close to the action, somehow. He's rather too far away and needs to crop a little. He was thinking of getting the 35-100mm but he's a family man and can't justify the cost of that lens (yet).

I know what you mean by your wife noticed and didn't necessarily like the incredible crispness of that lens.
