My big Dilemma, keep Sigma 35 after buying Nikon 18-35g?

I needed a wider angle lens than my Sigma 35 1.4 so I rented a Nikon 18-35g. I had planned on buying this wide zoom after hearing such great things. I'm really impressed by this lens. I'm adding comparison shots of my Sig 35 and the 18-35 at 35mm on a d800, both at f8 which is my most common aperture. The nikon seems actually sharper in some areas, and the sigma seems sharper in others. Both are focused exactly on the clock hands(toward the center, right) Look in the front right hand corner at the text. Nikon is better at f8.

I practically never shoot wide open, and even barely at 5.6, it seems diffraction is the equalizer in this particular case. I've always been blown away by the Sigma but I'm thinking at my f stop habits I may never need the prime, just keep the 18-35 on it.

I really love the sig 35 but it's $$$$ which I don't have a lot of, if I can sell it after I get the zoom.

the anxiety begins.....

first is the nikon 18-35g on a d800

now the sigma 35, at f8 d800

Nikon D800
