Thanks a lot ttbek. It helps me a lot!

Since you have used the Fotodiox adapter, are the aperture data transfered to the exif data? And can you tell what aperture you are using, or how many f-stops you have closed it? I have seen on some e-bay photos that there is a ring with "open" and "wide" markings. From your disciption I understand that the aperture progressively closes. But do we know how much and at what actual fstop we stop?

All the adapters for NX are physical only, no electrical connection at all, so no exif data (the camera puts down the aperture as 1.0 as a filler number). I was talking about the FD to NX adapter: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=995047&is=REG&Q=&A=details

So, as you can see, no markings, and you couldn't do any markings (except maybe like % or fractional), because the f-stop goes between wide open and your set f-stop on the lens (so this will be changing). The intention was I think just because it needs to lock in with the old mount, but this was just a bonus use for me. So, when set at install, wide open, when turned all the way the other direction, you're at the f-stop on the lens.

For the K mount adapters, I think those ones with aperture control turn the aperture of the lens directly, they don't seem to have any markings of their own. So, I guess you work blind for the lenses that don't have manual aperture of their own, don't really know (don't own the adapter or any K-mount lenses). Better off than EF lenses anyway, using those on NX you're stuck wide open except for a possible trick of putting the lens on a EOS camera, setting the aperture, then taking off the lens with the camera still on, but I've only heard this, haven't verified it.

ttbek, check the video in this link

I've read in the NEX forum that I guy prefers this adapter even with lenses that have aperture ring, as the closing of the aperture is more smooth/ without clicks. This is seen in the above link.

Also, regarding focus peaking, is it available with other manual lenses or other brand AF lenses when used with the adapter, which makes the MF anyhow on NX300? I am thinking of a K-mount Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 (AF) and a Pentax K135mm f2.5 (MF).

The focus peaking works with everything, the difference is just in how it's activated, by turning the focus ring on NX lenses, by pressing the 'ok' button for anything else.

Oh, and is there any kind of extended zoom feature that uses a crop from the center area of the sensor (instead of digital zoom), like some Panasonic cameras have?

1.2x, 1.4x, 1.7x, or 2x, but here's the downside. I believe it is only set to work with iFunction lenses, (at least the iFunction menu is the only way I know of to reach this setting). Maybe not even for all iFunction lenses (I don't know for sure). I can say that it definitely works with the 18-55 and the 50-200. The 30mm appears not to have this available as I was saying (30mm is not an iFunction lens). Also, this does not work in video (T.T, would have been nice since video is only 1080p anyway). I actually don't find a point to it for anything but video (I guess the Nikon D4 can do it for video?) I could just crop myself later and as a zoom aid, well there is 5x and 8x focus aid zooming available (shot still is 1x).

I was not clear, but I was refering to the video. So the answer is no.

Again, many thanks for taking the time to reply!

BTW, I ordered the NX300 last night. Thanks for the info.

I have posted a question regarding speed boosters /focal reducers for my Pentax lenses on NX300. So, if you know anything about them, please advice.
