Oly OMD EM5: RAW vs JPEG and PP

I always shoot JPEG with my OMD, for difficult situations I may do RAW/JPEG. I come from analogue days and I am not good at PP, and I do not like it. A little cropping, contrast or WB correction but not much at all. I was asked by wife (who takes good pics but is no geek) to just shoot raw because it looks better, she said. I was very surprised because she was looking at unprocessed RAW vs Oly JPEGs (which are very good indeed). I checked myself and I checked the web. Noone is using unprocessed RAW, no way.

So I now ask politely: are unprocessed RAW of any interest? Do you ALWAYS process RAW and how much? I use aperture...Do you then save as JPEGs or TIFF?

I just want to make sure that dogmas are real:

1. RAW is better than JPEG.

2. RAW alone is enough.

3. RAW must be postprocessed.

Thanks for your input,
