NX has a very 'variable' style

I think they're *aiming* for:
- "professional" - NXxx line (NX30 is bigger, because bigger = professional, right?!). Fortunately a EVF and lots of manual controls too, because buttons and stuff are professional.
- "smart" - NXxxx line (i.e. fashionable, cool, trendy, whatever you want to call it). No EVF because no Korean model would ever hold a camera up to her eye to shoot pictures - too much risk of ruining the eyeliner.
- "affordable quality" - NXxxxx line - i.e. plastic. Fortunately Samsung are a bit short on UI designers (they're all off re-inventing samsungized versions of google play apps) so no features have actually been removed from this line.
(only being slightly sarcastic here....)
This is why I don't thing you're ever going to get the retro rangefinder styling you'd like, I can't really see how it would fit into how they see their target audience. I personally like the NXxx line (although no bigger than is necessary, please), and I think the NXxxxx line is pretty good value and I've recommended it to friends, but the whole NX range is not exactly coherent...
